MEMBERSHIP

Membership in CVMA® Maine is granted in accordance with the bylaws of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association®.
In addition to the general membership requirements, all applications must be accompanied by a signed Patch Agreement.
The following information is a general overview of basic requirements for membership.
Full Member
Those veterans with verifiable combat or combat theatre experience and an honorable discharge are eligible to be Full Members. A copy of an applicant’s DD-214 or a copy of the awards page (NDAWS, OSR, etc.) (if on active duty) normally available through each service’s Personnel Office or PSD (Navy) must be used for verification.
Membership also includes ownership of a motorcycle of 500cc displacement or more. Also, a valid motorcycle driver’s license endorsed by their state as well as proof of insurance for their motorcycle is required.
The annual dues are $20.00 for Full Members.
Support Member
Those veterans with honorable service who have not served in combat or in a combat theatre environment are eligible to be Support Members. Becoming a Support Member requires a copy of an applicant’s DD-214 or proof of current military service.
Also includes ownership of a motorcycle of 500cc displacement or more. Also, a valid motorcycle driver’s license endorsed by their state as well as proof of insurance for their motorcycle is required.
The annual dues are $10.00 for Support Members.
Auxiliary Member
Spouses of Members are eligible to become Auxiliary Members. An Auxiliary Member application requires a copy of the Marriage Certificate to be submitted with the Member application. The Member is the sponsor of the Auxiliary Member.
The annual dues are $10.00 for Auxiliary Members.
Life Members
Full Members and Auxiliary Members with 3-years active membership in the CVMA who is in good standing*, and has met the requirement of minimum participation of one sanctioned CVMA event per year – one of which must be a National meeting is eligible for a Life Membership.
Also, a valid motorcycle driver’s license endorsed by their state as well as proof of insurance for their motorcycle is required.
The term “Good Standing” shall be defined as any person who has fulfilled the requirements for membership in the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, who is not currently under disciplinary review or probationary status for disciplinary reasons, who has paid the necessary dues and conformed to the requirements as set forth in the CVMA bylaws.
